A Brief History of Gambling

Much like 'love' and 'war', gambling seems to be an integral part of the human psyche. Since human beings have roamed this planet, we seem to have inherited a penchant for gambling of one sort or another. For decades archaeologists have uncovered remnants and writings that confirm that gambling was part of daily life in many lost civilizations.

Take ancient Egypt, for example. Archaeologists have discovered a board game called Senet that was enjoyed during the time of the Pharaohs and possibly before. Another game from the same period was called Astragali?s, which involved a 4-sided game carved from animal bones. These were both gambling games.
